Statement of the AUGB Board of Directors

All Ukrainians and the democratic world are angered today by the announcement by

President Putin that the regions of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzha, Kherson – amounting

to 18% of Ukraine - will join Crimea in being illegally and forcibly annexed to Russia.

This is not a result of a democratic and free choice of the people, but an ultimatum

issued at the point of a gun. Ukrainians in those regions will now be victims of a new

genocide aimed at wiping out dissent, culture and national identity.

It is an acknowledgement that Russia is losing its war against Ukraine and that the only

option President Putin has left is to continue murdering innocent civilians, send his own

ill-equipped civilians to a certain death, and threaten the West with nuclear war.

Human lives and international law mean nothing to him. President Putin must be called

out for what he is – a war criminal at the head of what has become a terrorist state.

Every Russian who remains silent is complicit in his war crimes and terrorist acts.

Ukraine must stand strong – for the sake of the international order and peace in Europe.

Democratic governments everywhere must continue to provide military aid to ensure

that Russia’s state terrorism is defeated and that all those responsible are brought to

justice.

Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzha, Kherson and Crimea will always be Ukraine!

ЗАЯВА СУБ ЩОДО НЕЗАКОННОЇ АНЕКСІЇ УКРАЇНСЬКИХ ЗЕМЕЛЬ

Усі українці та демократичний світ сьогодні розлючені нахабною заявою Володимира

Путіна про те, що Луганщина, Донеччина, Запоріжжя та Херсонщина незаконно та

насильно анексовані Росією.

Це не наслідок демократичного і вільного вибору народу, а ультиматум, висунутий під

дулом автомата. Це також і визнання того, що Росія програє свою війну проти України і

що єдиний варіант, який залишився Кремлю, - це продовжувати вбивати невинних

українців, відправляти власних погано оснащених громадян на смерть та погрожувати

Заходу ядерною війною.

Людські життя та міжнародне право нічого не означають для Путіна та його посіпак. І їх

врешті варто назвати правильними словами – воєнні злочинці на чолі держави-

терориста. А кожен росіянин, який мовчить, є співучасником воєнних злочинів та

терористичних атак Росії.

Україна має бути сильною заради міжнародного порядку та миру в Європі.

Демократичні уряди скрізь повинні продовжувати надавати військову допомогу Україні

і в такий спосіб гарантувати покарання Росії за її злочини.

Луганщина, Донеччина, Запоріжжя, Херсонщина і Крим завжди будуть Україною!
